JOB
Summary:
This position is responsible for to research, analyze, design, develop and/or modify application and data systems as assigned. This position also provides both system maintenance and system development capabilities to the organization and supports production systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB
Responsibilities:
Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming and data systems including encoding, testing, debugging, and creating installation capabilities to support the organizations application systems.
Agile Scrum development approach to systems development
Participates in the design of future capabilities; Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and to resolve user issues
Testing software development through implementation of Unit Test, Integration Test and Test Driven Development
Frequently relies on instructions and/or pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
Take part in developing instructions and/or guidelines.
May act as a project leader or manager
Required Skills
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Experience in the following is recommended generation languages, Relational Databases, XML, HRML, CSS, Web Services, JavaScript
5 years Experience with Progress ABL, Webspeed, HTML
Ability to apply systems knowledge to business needs
Experience with automated unit testing or test driven development
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required
Ability to multi-task and demonstrate a commitment to growing with the company.
Working knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and experience in developing, tracking, and completing project tasks with Agile Scrum methodologies
KNOWLEDGE:
Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
Clear understanding of the technology used within the environment
Experience in Insurance Industry Claims Management Systems
Required Experience
EDUCATION:
BS / BA in Engineering or Computer Science or Equivalent Work Experience
Experience:
8 years experience in the Information Technology field as a systems developer
